This book about the White House is very interesting and a good read to assist children in learning about the life of the President. It not only introduces each President by telling interesting (and sometimes embaressing) facts about them, but it also lays out the rooms of the White House and the interesting history in each.  I found this book helpful and interesting so I am sure kids would too.
