Eddie Lee is a little boy with down syndrome who just wants someone to play with, and Christy, his neighbor, is made to play with him. She is made to play with him because her mother always tells her, “Be good to Eddie Lee because he is different!” Christy wondered if that meant he would have to follow her and Jim Bud, her friend, around all summer? Jim Bud and Christy were on their way to the creek one afternoon when they hear an awful noise coming from across the road, it was none other than Eddie Lee. Christy knew she had to let him tag along or she would be in trouble. Much to her surprise, that afternoon was one of the most exciting afternoons she had ever had. Eddie Lee shows them unique places, cool frod eggs, and beatiful flowers, and this is when Christy realizes that even people with speacial problems have special, unique, individual gifts.
